I'll start out by saying I'm not your typical southern male. By any stretch of the imagination. I suppose it's all a matter of opinion if that is a good thing or a bad thing. Coming up with three words to describe myself was hard enough...now I have to come up with 100 characters? I've been single (widowed) since 2005, and I have a 17-year-old daughter.

Although I think of myself as somewhat intelligent, I am also a little more than somewhat shy; therefore, I am not a brilliant conversationalist, especially when I first meet someone.....which I suppose can come across as boring. I am an in-your-face sort of person. My interests include aviation, computers, firearms, private investigations and screenwriting. I love animals, to include cats, Alaskan Malamutes, and many things considered wild animals, such as big cats - and even a kinkajoo. If you don't like fur, you won't like being around me very much. I am also an adrenaline junkie. This does not mean that I take stupid risks, but you should take a moment to define "stupid." I was a skydiver for many years, and may resume the activity in the near future. If I had been unwilling to make that first jump, I would never have learned that skydiving is the safest of all the action sports, and I would have missed knowing several treasured and lifelong friends.

I am a very independent person. I deeply appreciate companionship, warmth and emotional support, but I do not appreciate the sort of man who wants to take charge of my life or be overly protective.
