Growing up with animals of all kinds, Jim knew from an early age that veterinary medicine would be his calling. He spent most of his early school years at Texas A & M, where his father was a veterinarian.
He worked in Central Texas Hill Country, which includes the El Paso area, Fort Worth, Austin and San Antonio. He was also an assistant professor of veterinary medicine at Texas A & M University in Austin.
